Last weekend, over 40 Scouts and leaders spent the day blasting paint-balls at each other at Delta-Force in Romsey. Young people from the 2nd, 7th, 13th, 14th and 29th took part in 12 team games ranging from defending castles, protecting the president in an apocalyptic London and surviving a zombie invasion.
It was a great day of working together, meeting other people from local groups and having the opportunity to shoot paint at each other for fun. We were blessed with a sunny and dry day, although it was pretty chilly.
Well done to everyone who took part. We had some wonderful feedback from the organisers to say that the Scouts were all brilliantly behaved and got really stuck in with the games. Follow the link below to see some of the photos we took on the day.

Today we visited Oeschinensee, a beautiful lake near Kandersteg. After taking a gondola up the mountain we were spoilt with the stunning views around the area and even snow!

Today’s Switzerland adventure saw the Scouts exploring Kandersteg village, learning about Scouting at the Scout museum, and discovering some of the local geocaches! ⚜️🇨🇭
Today the Scouts headed out on the train to visit Trummelbach Falls, Interlaken and Spiez. A big thank you to Alpkit Foundation whose generosity allowed us to experience these stunning waterfalls.
Today was our last day in Switzerland and we enjoyed walking to Blausee and exploring the lake and trout farm. We also met up with some Guides from Lewes for a great campfire to end the trip!

To me, scouts is about new experiences, developing skills and growing comfort zones.
This half term, 3x 12yr old scouts & I quite literally slept on the side of a cliff – I think that’s a tick in each box.
Truly fantastic and surreal experience. Massive thanks to James and his friends who lent us the portaledges, to the parents who trusted me, Anne for camping up top, and the scouts for being utterly amazing. It was a humbling experience.

You’ve got to be tough to get through a weekend in Snowdonia! Scouts, Explorers and Network members have just returned from an adventurous trip reaching the peaks of North Wales. Saturday’s mist, rain and wind didn’t stop our teams reaching the summits of Snowdon and Tryfan. By Sunday the weather eased, rewarding us with some stunning views. Well done to everyone who attended, it’s a big achievement.

Congratulations to the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers for taking part in their section competitions over the last two weekends. I was pleased to be able to get to these events as DC.
- Beavers at Loggerheads
- Cubs at Davids Challenge
- Scouts at District Emlyn
I was really impressed with the way the teams at all three events showed teamwork and developed leadership in their challenges. With everyone having great fun along the way.
Thanks also to the leader teams in each section for their hard work in making these competitions happen.
It’s great to see the levels of challenge that go with the progression up through the sections.
Well done all who took part and thanks to all who supported these great events.

For those who don’t know… Emlyn is a weekend competition camp held every year where Scouts get the opportunity to ‘camp without adults’ in the sense that they set up their site, cook, eat and complete challenges without any help from the leaders.
14th Wednesday Troop made this video of their time at Emlyn Camp last weekend…
