🎬 Watch: I’m A Cub… Get Me Out Of Here!

Posted on Friday, June 22nd, 2018

This is the Cubs 6ers Camp for 2018 at Wilverley Camp Site.

Our theme was: I’m a Cub get Me Out of Here.

We had a fun camping weekend with Friday night’s wide game being challenges to earn Dingo Dollars to buy doughnuts from Kiosk Chil’s Outback Shack.

Saturday Competition Day was full of Jungle themed challenging activities, run by the fantastically talented Pack Leaders.
(Unfortunately, apologies to those whos base footage has not appeared on this video the Go Pro had a glitch)
Sunday was the Cub Cyclone slip and slide, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the Cubs and Leaders, especially Ollie who got Jungle slimmed!

Thank You to all for a fabulous weekend.
Sarah Granger (Chil)
ADC Cubs.

On Saturday 19th of May, Cubs attended the District Archery Competition at the 22nd HQ.
It was a gloriously hot day and the Cubs enjoyed shooting arrows and finishing the day off with a cool Ice lolly.
Well done to everyone who took part and to the leaders for their support.
A special thank you to Shaun and Ant for a great event.

DC’s Notes: Beavers Loggerheads, Cubs Challenge and Scouts Emlyn

Posted on Sunday, June 11th, 2017

Congratulations to the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers for taking part in their section competitions over the last two weekends. I was pleased to be able to get to these events as DC.

  • Beavers at Loggerheads
  • Cubs at Davids Challenge
  • Scouts at District Emlyn

I was really impressed with the way the teams at all three events showed teamwork and developed leadership in their challenges. With everyone having great fun along the way.

Thanks also to the leader teams in each section for their hard work in making these competitions happen.

It’s great to see the levels of challenge that go with the progression up through the sections.

Well done all who took part and thanks to all who supported these great events.

David, DC

Cerebrating Cubs 100 at the home of UK scouting!

Posted on Friday, October 28th, 2016

Over 120 cubs and 50 leaders travelled to Gilwell Park on the weekend of the 10th September to celebrate 100 years of cub scouting with a Birthday Party and many adventurous activities like the 3G swing!

It was a real team effort with Network catering for us and Active Support helping with transport.

The cubs had an amazing time and we commemorated our visit by leaving a stone in the promise path for the cubs to find when they visit Gilwell in the future.

What do young people like about Cubs?

Posted on Thursday, May 19th, 2016

Last month The Scout Association announced that the number of young people in Scouting has grown every year for a decade. There is now a whopping  571,000 of us! A huge part of this success is down to the fact that more girls than ever before want to join the adventure too and are signing up in record numbers.

Recently BBC Radio 5Live interviewed some of our Cubs to find out why they enjoy scouting together.
