Grey Owl's Report
Unfortunately Grey Owl’s wings have been clipped again!! However the Beaver Scouts have got off to a flying start this term.
County Day to celebrate the 25 years of Beaver Scouting at Legoland was well attended by our District. Although I was unable to go I did send off two coach loads off very excited children at 8.30am. and then met the same rather tired but happy ones on their return. I have also had the pleasure of awarding Bronze Awards at a lunch prepared by the 12 Beavers at the 7th Colony. Gail went to the 2nd to award 4 bronze awards, Eve has also presented four at the 1st. Thanks to Mr grey Owl I was able to award four more at the 9th. At the same time Colin was there to award Mary Myers with her Wood Beads. Congratulations to you all and to all the leaders for giving so much encouragement to the young people.
There are some new leaders in the 14th and 29th Colonies and I would like to welcome them to the District. Before Christmas we also have the County Day at Paultons Park, the pantomime with the Cubs at the Nuffield Theatre and then our annual Christingle service on December 4th at St James Church. With all that goes on at the weekly Beaver meetings, (I heard something on the grapevine about erupting volcanoes!), I think we have a very busy and active section.
Well done and thank you to all the Leaders who keep things moving on.
