2. Permission MUST be obtained for any activity to take place in the New Forest, other than one involving only one Section of a Group, carried out in daylight hours and not involving a fixed course with incidents. All other activities are referred to the Forestry Commission by the County Scout Secretary, from the County Office, Ferny Crofts, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7QY. (tel: 023 80847847), to whom all applications should be sent giving six weeks prior notice. A copy of the Forestry Commission's General Information to Organisers' is detailed below.

4. ACCESS TO THE SITE MUST BE GAINED VIA THE FOREST GATE ON THE BROCKENHURST TO SWAY/BURLEY ROAD (MAP REF. SU253007), see the location map. A key is required to open the access gate from the car park into the forest, this will be collected with the keys of the campsite. After passing through this gate IT MUST BE RELOCKED as the Forestry Commission do not allow the general public to drive vehicles on forest tracks. If your party do not all arrive or leave at the same time, a gate keeper should be left at the gate until movements cease.

5. THE GATE ON THE A35 IS FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES ONLY AND MUST NOT BE USED FOR ACCESS TO THE SITE. A key for the A35 gate is located in a break glass cabinet in each building, these keys MUST ONLY be removed in case of an emergency. PLEASE ADVISE THE BOOKING WARDEN IF YOU FIND THE GLASS BROKEN WHEN YOU ARRIVE OR IF YOU HAVE CAUSE TO USE THE KEY. IF YOU DO NOT YOU MAY BE CHARGED FOR NEW GLASS.

6. THERE IS A 15MPH SPEED LIMIT THROUGH THE INCLOSURE. Please ensure everybody coming to the campsite is made aware of this and remember the track is a public nature walk. Any complaint of speeding vehicles received by the Forestry Commission could adversely affect everybody's use of the site.

9. The person in charge must act as Fire Warden for the site, or for that portion of the site under their control as appropriate. Fire Precaution notices are exhibited in each building. Please remember that the New Forest is a densely wooded area and fire risk is always present. No fire may be lit on the site except in proper fireplaces in the buildings or on the Bar-B-Que.

10. Under no circumstances may wood be chopped or sawn in the buildings and users are requested to replenish the internal wood stores from the wood pile before they leave so that dry material is available for the next users. Please also use wood of the correct size for the stove. Jamming large logs into the openings will damage the expensive fire bricks in place.

11. No dogs or firearms are permitted on the campsite, no axes or sharp implements are permitted in the inclosures.

12. Paraffin lamps may NOT be used in any building and any filling of such lamps or changing gas cylinders MUST UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES be carried out in the open air.

15. The Bar-B-Que site is for the sole purpose of teaching Scouts to cook over open fires, and it is only for this purpose the Forestry Commission have permitted the facility. A leader MUST ALWAYS be present when the Bar-B-Que is in use.

16. The electricity supply to the campsite is by diesel generator. Before using the generator, hirers must familiarise themselves with the operating instructions displayed adjacent to the generator.
